With a Smile

The blushing morning flashed her poesy smile,
seduced me, beckoning through my windows.
Come, leave your worn out shoes and woes awhile
to dance in rhythm with verdant meadows.

Rejoice in golden sun of bright new day,
where wooing, rosy breasted birds chirp cheer.
In pastel paintings, bright butterflies play;
a blue sky’s yawning on this spinning sphere.

Away from poison traffic, bruising stress,
escape the dark news, dreary debts to pay.
Come dance in fresh, innocent childishness,
away with power heels, deadlines, come play.

I danced among lupine and daffodil,
on Spring’s fair veil, a barefoot, carefree girl.
